The V5-tag is derived from a small epitope (Pk) found on the P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus of simian virus 5 (SV5). It is characterized as an epitope tag generally consisting of a short peptide sequence of 14 amino acids (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) and chosen for the high-affinity antibodies that could be generated towards it. The V5-tag is commonly used as a dependable method to detect and purify proteins containing the tag.
Anti-V5-ZAP uses the secondary antibody (antibody to v5 tag fusion protein) to “piggyback” onto YOUR cells expressing extracellular V5 to evaluate the expression of your target. Once the conjugate is internalized, saporin breaks away from the targeting agent and inactivates the ribosomes, which causes protein inhibition and, ultimately, cell death.
Anti-V5-SAP specifically eliminates YOUR cells expressing extracellular V5.
