Dengue virus is caused by one of four closely related virus serotypes of the genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae. Each serotype is sufficiently different from the other such that there is no cross-protection and epidemics caused by multiple serotypes (hyperendemicity) can occur. In cell culture experiments and in mice Morpholino antisense oligos have shown specific activity against dengue virus.
Recombinant dengue virus subtype 2 envelope protein is produced in E. coli and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. The recombinant protein does not include the N-terminal 45 amino acids of the native protein. It contains a 6 His tag and it is suitable for gold conjugation. Purity is greater than 95% pure as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Reported to be effective for lateral flow and ELISA assay.
